What comes with a puppy?

You will receive health records for your puppy that details what vaccinations/medications have been given as well as an AKC registration application. ALL PUPPIES will be registered with the 'Coonhaven' kennel name.  
​WE DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE THE U.S. and really prefer not to ship at all.  It is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange ground transportation if shipping is necessary. 

How can I reserve a puppy?

To reserve a puppy, we require a $200 deposit that is generally paid by a check in the mail and comes out of the total price. This deposit is only refundable in the event that we can't give you a puppy for some unforeseeable reason. It cannot be refunded simply because you have changed your mind. The remaining balance on your puppy will be due at the time of pickup. It can be paid by money order or cash. Contact us for more details on how to place a deposit.

Why Limited AKC Registration?

Limited AKC registration means that you do not intend to breed or show your puppy in the future - this registration is appropriate if you are looking for a wonderful family pet or hunting companion. Some puppies with limited registration might be considered pet quality, meaning that they might have minor imperfections that would keep them out of the show ring, but they still make loving, loyal pets. ​

What if I can no longer keep my dog?

You must allow us the opportunity to reacquire a dog that you have purchased from us. The animal cannot be sold, traded, given away, destroyed or otherwise transferred without written permission from the owner of Coonhaven. You will sign a legally binding contract to this effect before taking your puppy home. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact us.
